29th November, 2017 – Jane St, Community Garden: Community gardens are hubs for our neighbourhood, providing local food and gathering places. Projects Kurilpa Futures is directly involved in.
Please Note: Each of these projects is part of the over-arching strategy, the Green Space Strategy, that has been prepared by professional landscape architects in collaboration with local community associations over many years. The strategy aims to provide 11 hectares of additional green space to the inner city suburbs of West End, South Brisbane and Highgate Hill. The residential population of these suburbs is expected to grow by 25,000 people by 2035 (from 2011). In October 2016 the Strategy took out the national award for communities from the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.
