With the Olympics ahead of us, Kurilpa Futures and Queensland Ballet have partnered to create this opportunity for our community to come together.
Do we want Montague Road to be like the bleak space at the Aldi supermarket corner? Or, is our vision going to be for a tree-lined transport corridor that balances the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and motor vehicles while encouraging cultural, arts organisations and businesses to locate in the precinct creating a truly cultural locale?
Immediately on the horizon, the State Government is transferring $1M for a detailed plan for Montague Road to Brisbane City Council. This follows on from the 2019 South Brisbane Transport and Mobility Study.
We hope everyone will get involved, especially people living in apartments along the river as well as those living on the other side along the length of Montague Road up to Hardgrave Road and northwards from there.
Our goal is to compile our consensus vision, showing how we got there with our diverse views, to give to government and all other key stakeholders to guide them for the next ten years’ development of our local area.
So, we are inviting you to have creative community conversations about our local area with family, friends and colleagues.
